Forest Heights Lodge is a private, non-profit therapeutic residential program, located in the quiet Rocky Mountains of Evergreen, Colorado since 1954.
Nationally accredited with the Joint Commission of Accredited Hospitals and Organizations (JCAHO) since 1974, we are ideally situated to provide a therapeutic environment (milieu) for boys who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, academic and social issues.
The heart of our philosophy is to make residential treatment a gratifying life experience which enables a child to live successfully in the community with others.

Our Basic Principles

  • Close, personal relationships pull children back to healthy relationships. The child must develop trust in order to grow.
  • Life should be gratifying.
  • A child must feel safe to risk both relationships and changing.
  • Treatment should be a re-education in living.
  • Strengths and potential should be emphasized with each child.
Our Unique Treatment Model is designed for boys ages 5-14 who struggle to create healthy relationships in their lives and may also be challenged with psychological or learning problems such as:
Bipolar
ADD/ADHD
Depression
Mood Disorders
Attachment Issues
Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Learning Disorders

Abuse
Anxiety
Trauma/PTSD
Obsessive Behaviors
Asperger's or similar issues
Non-verbal Learning Disabilities
Slow Processing

Here's what some of our alumni parents have to say:

"The Forest Heights' Team helped our family move through a very dark tunnel and our son discovered the wonderful person that he always was and always will be. Our family is whole again - Thank You!"

"
I can't tell you how informative and impressive the treatment plan review meetings were for me. I truly have a better understanding of where Andrew stands both fundamentally and educationally. Moreover, I could not be more taken by the commitment of the staff as well as their insight and caring.  We are fortunate to be sharing our son with Forest Heights."
"I think Ben's time at the lodge was life saving and life-transforming."

"Frank is a solid, caring, real person with great moral values which i attribute to the lodge experience."

"The lodge was wonderful-they saved Abraham's life and have been so supportive since he left."

"We have seen our boy emerge from his self-created cocoon and rigid world into a boy who is increasingly capable, confident and flexible."

"David's transformation has been Immeasurable."
