The total treatment program covers: milieu, psychotherapy, educational and recreational therapy, and group and family therapy.
All levels of staff actively participate in all staffing meetings. An admission conference is held on each child to familiarize all staff members with his history and special needs. A plan is formulated to facilitate his initial adjustment and ensure his well-being. Within four weeks after admission, a more complete treatment plan is formulated and regularly reviewed thereafter. The needs assessed at this time are in the following areas: psychiatric, psychological, physical, educational, chronological and developmental age, environmental and social, and family. Specific short term objectives, long term goals and a total treatment plan are developed. A wide range of therapeutic services is available to be implemented as determined by the treatment plan. The diversity of our professional staff enables us to make choices about therapeutic approaches according to each child and family's needs. All medical care is under the direction of the Medical Director. Major medical tests, evaluations and/or treatment are provided in medical facilities in Evergreen and in the Denver area. These services are coordinated by the Medical Director and Registered Nurse as a part of the total treatment plan. |
