Outpatient, Training and Consultation Services

A complete range of outpatient direct services is offered for boys and girls and their families, growing out of the highly successful treatment program. Our major interests and expertise are in the following areas:
  1. The emotionally disturbed child and the problems such disturbances create for him and others.
  2. Attachment problems presented and experienced by children in foster care and birth and adoptive families.
  3. Children who experienced parental loss whether it is by death, divorce or foster care.
  4. Problems presented by the very young child due to developmental imbalance.
In addition to ongoing outpatient therapy, we also offer individual evaluations aimed at clarifying the child's needs, prognosis and recommendations to other agencies responsible for providing ongoing services for the child.

Post-placement services may include follow-up care, offering whatever services are needed, to the child and his family to ensure that successful treatment is lasting.

Training and Consultations:
As our program has become internationally known, we have been more and more in demand to share our experience and ideas. Our staff have given training and consultation to many thousands of professions, foster and adoptive parents and other groups. Our interest is to give people tools for working with children. Some of the most often requested workshops and consultations are in the areas of:
  • Attachment and Separation
  • Child Development
  • Child Management
  • All Facets of Foster Care and Adoption
  • The Attachment Model of Residential Treatment
  • Administration and Quality Improvement and Accreditation in Residential Treatment Centers
  • Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment of the Disturbed Child
Individual workshops can be designed to meet specific needs by contacting the Executive Director.

Consultation to Other Residential Facilities:
A frequently requested service is consultation in evaluating and making recommendations for development, improvement and reorganization of children's treatment programs. Often this is in relation to helping the facility apply for accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
